Position Description
This company has created patent-pending technology that is built on a robust technology platform. They are in need of senior technicians who can help with development on the front end and the back end. While you do not need to be skilled in all of these, the technologies this company uses include: PHP, Apache, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, Python, XML, JSON, AJAX, CakePHP, RESTful API’s, Ubuntu Linux, Nginx, Amazon Web Services (S3/EC2/CloudFront/RDS/Elastic Load Balancing/DynamoDB/Elastic Map Reduce, Redshift, SQS, Elasticache, Data Pipeline and SES), Apache Hadoop. As a Senior Developer you must be highly analytical and knowledgeable about the latest software products that are available to users.
- Design, maintain and deploy software applications to meet user and business needs.
- Perform a variety of application programming, server administration, database management, and software debugging developed or packaged.
- Define technical designs and functional specification primarily for our business systems and applications.
- Create programs that run on Apache or NGNIX (Linux based) servers, make web applications that work cross browsers and platforms, and create a framework to build new websites on-demand based on central configurations and real-time decisions.
- Conduct system-wide tests, provide customer and user technical support, and monitor system performance to ensure that software programs are operating optimally.
- Five years of software development and/or testing experience required.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with PHP, Apache, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, Python, XML, JSON, AJAX, CakePHP, RESTful API’s, Ubuntu Linux, Nginx, Amazon Web Services (S3/EC2/CloudFront/RDS/Elastic Load Balancing/DynamoDB/Elastic Map Reduce, Redshift, SQS, Elasticache, Data Pipeline and SES), and Apache Hadoop preferred.
- Experience with unit and regression testing preferred.
- Comfortable with shell scripts/command line.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Must be able to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills are critical.
- The ability to work as a team player is essential.
