We have a number of clients throughout the Northeast who are in need of Business Analysts who have extensive experience and knowledge of the Insurance industry.

Position Description

The correct candidate will be responsible for the capture, analysis, and documentation of business requirements for a new Policy Administration system – both business applications and workflows Responsibilities include conducting interviews with key business stakeholders, developing detailed business and functional requirements, facilitating JAD sessions, creating tickets for requests from business customer, and working with Program Manager for refinement and approval.

  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand functional and informational needs.
  • Translate these business needs into clearly defined and documented business requirements.
  • Develop use cases, process flows, data flows, and other supporting documentation as required.
  • Facilitate internal JAD sessions to review requirements documents before presentation to the business stakeholders
  • Facilitate document review sessions with business stakeholders to obtain consensus and sign-off on requirements deliverables
  • Negotiate and select appropriate release content to meet most critical business needs.
  • BA degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with PHP, Apache, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, Python, XML, JSON, AJAX, CakePHP, RESTful API’s, Ubuntu Linux, Nginx, Amazon Web Services (S3/EC2/CloudFront/RDS/Elastic Load Balancing/DynamoDB/Elastic Map Reduce, Redshift, SQS, Elasticache, Data Pipeline and SES), and Apache Hadoop preferred.
  • Experience with unit and regression testing preferred.
  • Experience with Modern Policy Administration Systems (i.e. Duck Creek, Exigen, or Guidewire)
  • At least 3 -5 years of prior commercial property/casualty insurance system experience as a Business.
  • Analyst with expertise in one of the following: Auto, Worker’s Comp., General Liability, Inland Marine, Property or BOP (Business Owners Policies).
  • Ability to working closely with business customer and facilitate meetings.
  • Demonstrated experience with formal SDLCs and business analysis methodologies; working knowledge of business analysis documentation standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
  • Ability to apply understanding of Information technology products and services to explain issues and resolutions to business stakeholders.
  • Must be a problem solver with strong analytical skills and able to see tasks through to completion without significant oversight. Must be delivery-oriented and date driven.
  • The successful candidate will be very comfortable in a matrix organization with evolving priorities and changing priorities. Continual collaboration within BTS and with the business is a must.
